From One Factory to 120 Countries: The Story of ChineseTomato

This isn't a press release. It's the story we tell when someone asks who we are.

In 2007, a small tomato paste factory opened its doors in Hebei, China. Nobody was watching. It made one thing, in one category, and it did that one thing the slow way — with the kind of patience that doesn't show up on a balance sheet. If you had told the people working there that they were standing at the beginning of a nineteen-year story, they probably would have smiled and gone back to work.

For a long time, that's all it was. One product, done properly. No shortcuts, no clever pivots. Just a stubborn belief that if the product is right, the customers eventually come.
They came. The turning point arrived in 2016, when the company decided to stop waiting for the world to knock and go and meet it — stepping into cross-border e-commerce and earning recognition as a pioneering smart-trade and branded foreign trade enterprise in Hebei Province. A year later, it joined China's first batch of cross-border e-commerce demonstration enterprises. That decision changed the scale of the business, but not the instinct behind it: still one product, still done properly.
Then the story picked up speed. In 2020, the company was certified as a High-Tech Enterprise. In 2021, sales reached number one in Hebei Province and entered the top five nationwide. And 2022 turned out to be the year everything came together at once — ISO 9001 certification, a public listing, and AEO certification from China Customs, with recognition as a "Specialized, High-Tech and Innovative SME" alongside them. Fourteen years of quiet work, cashed in over twelve months.
But the chapter we're proudest of started with a question we weren't sure how to answer.
The Red Cross needed a tomato paste supplier in China. Not a good one — the only one. The qualification process looked at everything: quality systems, social responsibility, how the business is run, what happens when nobody is checking. We went through it, and we came out the other side. Today we are the sole tomato paste supplier to the International Red Cross in China, and a registered supplier to the United Nations.
What that means for a buyer is simpler than it sounds. The same factory, the same quality control, the same standards we apply to institutional supply are the ones applied to everyday commercial orders. There is no second line for regular customers and a special one for the important ones. There is one line, and it's held to the highest bar we know.
Somewhere along the way, something else shifted too. In 2024, we were invited to help draft China's national standard for canned food industry terminology. In 2025, the "High-Quality Tomato Sauce" group standard we led was released. We used to read the rulebook. Now we help write it.
Today, nineteen years in, that original small factory has grown into a 58,740-square-meter facility with an annual capacity of 100,000 tons across nine tomato paste lines, and a total investment of fifty million US dollars behind it. Inside those walls we make tomato paste in five different formats, along with tomato ketchup, canned fish, seasoning powders and bouillon cubes, canned sweet corn, and starch — enough range that a customer can build an entire shelf with one partner instead of five. Our own brands, TMT, FINE TOM, and GINNY, are on shelves across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, in more than 120 countries in total.

The people behind that are worth mentioning too: a team of twelve export managers who between them cover English and several other languages, many of whom have stood in front of international buyers at the Canton Fair and learned this business the hard way — face to face.

And the measuring stick everyone can see? Eighteen years on Alibaba.com, a 5.0 out of 5.0 store rating, 100% on-time delivery, and a response time under two hours. Numbers don't tell a story on their own, but after nineteen years, they do say something about how we treat people who trust us.
"[FOUNDER QUOTE — to be inserted: one or two sentences, in the founder's own words, about why Quality First mattered from day one.]"
Quality First has been our principle since the first batch. It's why we run full-process control from raw material inspection to finished product release, why we welcome SGS onsite verification and BV inspection, and why we've never once failed a brand audit. It's also why a factory that started with nobody watching is now the one the world's most demanding institutions call first.
Nineteen years is a long time in this business. We're not done yet.
